SUMMARY:Voting Opens for "Voter's Choice" of Best Tree in Courthouse Park
DESCRIPTION:50 local non-profits have “planted” Christmas Tree Lane in Courthouse Park.  Each non-profit has decorated their own tree to best represent their organization.  The Christmas Town Sonora Committee will choose the 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place winners and the public will be able to vote for the Voter’s Choice.  Look for QR codes and a link to cast your vote on signs near the trees. Online voting begins December 2nd and will end on December 12th.  Winners will be announced on December 14th. \nLook for the QR codes and links on signs in Courthouse Park. \nVote for Your Choice of Best Non-Profit Christmas Trees 2025

DESCRIPTION:The 42nd Pop Hudson Memorial Christmas Sing\, presented by The Union Democrat\, will fill downtown Sonora with song on Friday\, Dec. 15\, and community groups are needed to help spread the holiday cheer. \nThe 45-minute event features members of community groups — like city and county employees\, service clubs and nonprofit organizations — leading the public in singing Christmas carols in front of the historic Tuolumne County Courthouse at Courthouse Square. Pianist Mark Seiver will accompany groups\, who will also be provided with song sheets so there’s no need to have words memorized. \nThe Christmas Sing is part of a festive afternoon that begins with a free lunch at noon provided by the Tuolumne County Sportsmen with Mut’s Bean Feed\, which was founded in 1987 by the late Galen “Mut” Mutzner.
